Simple Pleasures
"Tomten is the small Swedish elf who specializes in good deeds, and your child will resemble him strangely, if you put a Tomten jacket on him or her." ~Elizabeth Zimmerman
You might remember that I started this project for my friends new baby, well, after all is said and done it fits my 3 year old! So, my little guy has something to get him through the fall and I busted 3 skeins of yarn from my stash for the SOS! It was all done without shedding a single tear :-)

That's an adorable jacket and a very skillful model (seriously, your boy there has some great poses)! But that Zimmerman quote is kind of alarming. "Strangely"??

He's so beautiful and I really like this jacket you made for him. All in my favorite natural colors too. They should have this pattern for adults! I would make this!
I should have been in the SOS since I won't buy more until I have made a big dent into my stash. Didn't even realize I was already doing the SOS.

i LOVE this, i have to make it. i think i recall seeing it in 'knitting without tears' must go dig it out and see. just gorgeous, and such a cutie model!

The color combinations you used really work for this sweater. It looks fantastic. While I am a true EZ fan, I have never knit one of her designs. I think that may change!

so cute, both the boy and the new elf jacket.

It's a fabulous boy and a spiffy jacket. I actually heard that Tomtem's are the equivalent of Christmas elves. You can search for a children's book, entitled coincidentally, "The Tomten," via Amazon - I've seen it, it's cute. I don't know if he's into fairy tales and such but it might be fun to go with his new coat.

This is so cute! I have two grandsons that would look adorable in this. Where did you get this pattern?

Wow a cute jacket, and an even cuter model. It's so nice to watch kids have fun in knit wear! I might have to make one of these for my daughter!

What a great jacket! And he SURE doesn't look like you're torturing him to wear it.
Can you say "Get me an agent!"?

He is so gosh darn adorable. The jacket is cute, too. Your son looks like he has soooo much personality!!

That is a fabulous child's garment (and child). Nice job.

Love the colour combinations and the patterning going on in this jacket. Gotta go and read up more about this jacket. And your son's a natural!

OH! The little guy is getting cuter every post, I wouldn't have thought that was even possible! Great winter-stuff-in-summer-posing, too;-) I think the picture of him all wrapped up is my favorite. God, he's so CUTE!!!
Oh, yeah, the jacket's nice, too:-) very boyish, no baby jacket at all. It's perfect for him!

That is so fantastic! If I start one now, maybe it'll be ready for the Biscuit in a year! I love all things elfin.

By the way, are there details on this project- specifically, what yarn is that? Sorry to comment twice...

I LOVE this jacket. And I love that it was a stashbuster! How utterly perfect.
Oh god i am such a pattern whore. Now I need to knit this too.
Posted by: Francesca (Stuntmother) | June 19, 2006
Go! Stashbuster go! I love EZ, but as I hate all things garter stitch, I have not been tempted by many of her patterns. This however, looks adorable. Love the colors too. Keep up the great stash busting.

Absolutely Gorgeous! I will have to track this pattern down and make it ASAP. Thanks for the inspiration!

Great cheerful model!! AWESOME job! SOS YEAH!

OMG, so ridiculously cute. I've been planning to make an adult size version of the Tomten for awhile now. Your son totally needs to join me in the sordid world of knitwear modeling.
Which is actually not sordid at ALL.
